DMCA Ignored Hosting

Offshore hosting puts your website on a server outside your own country, with a provider picked for its content rules, its complaint process and its network. Mainstream hosts often ban pornography in their acceptable use policies, so adult publishers turn to Dutch, Swiss and Eastern European companies that accept legal adult content. The plans gathered here differ by the country of the company and of its machines, by what happens to a DMCA notice, by how traffic is billed and by the identity checks required to open an account.

What offshore hosting means

Offshore hosting means renting a server in a country other than the one where the site owner lives or trades, to benefit from a foreign provider's content rules, data protection or complaint handling. The word comes from finance, where an offshore company is registered outside the country of its customers. In web hosting it covers very different products: cPanel shared hosting, an offshore VPS, an offshore dedicated server or a full rack in a foreign data centre.

Three countries shape any offshore setup. The provider's home country sets its duties toward authorities and complainants. The server's location sets the network, the latency and the local law that applies to stored files. The visitors' countries set the rules a publisher must follow to stay reachable there. A Latvian host renting machines in Amsterdam and MojoHost, an American company with a Dutch subsidiary, show that a server city on its own says little about who runs the service or how it answers complaints.

Every provider, including those that market themselves as the most permissive, removes images of minors, non consensual material and bestiality, and many ask for identification before opening an account. Going offshore changes the procedure applied before a takedown and which country's authorities can order one.

Legal adult sites use offshore hosting mainly for two reasons: finding a provider whose policy allows pornography, and renting a network built to push video.

DMCA ignored hosting and how complaints are handled

DMCA ignored hosting is hosting that does not act on notices sent under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the United States law governing copyright online. The DMCA shields American hosts from liability as long as they remove reported material promptly. A provider based outside the United States has no need for that shield, and DMCA ignored plans sell exactly that distance.

The European Union runs its own notice and action system under the Digital Services Act. A host that receives a precise notice about illegal content must review it diligently and give the customer a statement of reasons for any restriction it applies. A copyright complaint sent to a Dutch or Latvian host still lands, under a different legal name.

Published procedures vary from one provider to the next. MojoHost follows the familiar American sequence of takedown, notice to the customer and counter notification. Some Dutch hosts warn the customer before cutting service and publish a transparency report. AlexHost treats correspondence from complainants without legal authority as spam and reserves the right to tell its customer about the notice. Others refuse DMCA ignored hosting in writing.

Bulletproof hosting goes further and promises to keep everything online whatever the complaint. That promise draws spam, phishing and malware, and blocklists such as Spamhaus end up listing whole address ranges. A legal adult site sitting on those ranges sees its email rejected and its IP address blocked by corporate firewalls.

An adult publisher answers complaints with paperwork. Performer age and consent records, required in the United States and requested by MojoHost and other hosts from their customers, licences for purchased content and a contact address that actually replies let a dispute be settled before the host pulls the server.

Where to host an adult site offshore

The Netherlands carries a large share of Europe's adult hosting. Amsterdam is home to AMS-IX, one of the largest internet exchange points in the world, to plenty of data centres open to rental customers and to a legal climate that tolerates lawful pornography. Several adult-friendly hosts have their head office there, and many foreign providers rent machines there too.

Switzerland draws customers who care about data protection. Some Swiss hosts keep customer data in data centres they own in the country and allow adult content only behind a working age gate.

Several offshore providers are based in Eastern Europe or the Baltics: AlexHost in Moldova, others in Bulgaria or Latvia. Their hardware often sits elsewhere, in the Netherlands, Germany or Sweden. Locations in Asia and the Middle East, such as Hong Kong, Dubai or Malaysia, mostly serve to bring a site closer to a local audience.

Server location also decides how fast a page feels. Video served from Amsterdam loads quickly across Europe and more slowly in South America or Asia. A CDN in front of the origin server brings files closer to viewers, provided its terms accept adult material and that volume of video.

Hosting abroad does not exempt a site from the rules of the countries where it is viewed. France, the United Kingdom and several American states require age verification on pornographic sites reachable from their territory, wherever the server is. Their regulators can fine the operator or have the site blocked.

Bandwidth, DDoS protection, identity checks and crypto payments

An offshore VPS is enough for a blog, a link site or a small paysite that hands its video to a CDN. A tube or any site streaming its own video needs an offshore dedicated server, with a fast port and traffic terms spelled out in writing.

Traffic is sold in three ways. Metered traffic is billed or throttled past a monthly allowance. Unmetered traffic has no volume cap but is limited by port speed, as on some VPS plans sold to adult sites. Unlimited traffic on shared hosting usually covers the site's own files only, and a policy that bans storing media files on shared accounts rules out video. Some hosts keep a dedicated server reachable past its limit at reduced bandwidth.

DDoS protection filters attack traffic before it reaches the machine. Some hosts detect attacks at network level. MojoHost and others include protection but leave outages caused by attacks out of their uptime commitments, so an attack earns the customer no credit.

The anonymity many plans advertise stops at the provider. Several hosts verify the identity of every new customer. Others can close without notice an account that declines to hand over a passport, or ask for ID before activating an order. Against third parties, protection depends on what the host agrees to disclose, and AlexHost releases nothing about a customer without a conviction and an official Moldovan request.

Paying in cryptocurrency often voids the refund. Some hosts refund no crypto payment, others exclude crypto purchases from their money back window, and elsewhere a crypto payment can trigger an identity request of its own. A host that sells adult hosting only may take Bitcoin and advertise discreet billing.

Before ordering, read the acceptable use policy for the word adult, for bans that touch video, proxies or payment pages, and for an abuse procedure. A host that publishes none handles complaints at its own discretion, with no stated deadline or appeal.
