MojoHost review: $39 servers with 324 TB for adult video

mojohost.com

MojoHost runs servers built for adult sites from Michigan, Florida and the Netherlands. The entry MojoServer costs $39 a month for 2 EPYC cores, 8 GB of RAM and 324 TB of transfer, and its master service agreement requires 2257 record-keeping.

Our take on MojoHost

MojoHost is a natural fit for a US tube or video site that burns bandwidth: a large transfer allowance from the first server, and Wowza, Ant Media and ProxyPass licenses at checkout.

Smaller sites should note that servers ship without a control panel, managed backups are unticked by default, and storage quickly costs more than the server.

MojoHost MojoServer pricing

The XXS MojoServer costs $39 a month for a 2-core AMD EPYC, 8 GB of ECC RAM, 250 GB of RAID NVMe and 324 TB of transfer, billed monthly with no setup fee. The XS is $99 for 4 cores and 16 GB, with larger sizes in Detroit, Miami and Amsterdam. Transfer beyond the allowance costs $0.50 per TB. Bare-metal MojoDedicated machines start at $450 a month for a 16-core Ryzen 7950X and reach $2,500 for an EPYC 9654P.

MojoHost's streaming and tube software

MojoHost sells Wowza and Ant Media streaming server licenses and ProxyPass password-sharing protection alongside its servers. The MechBunny tube script is in its software catalog. The master service agreement points customers to 2257 record-keeping and labeling and to age-verification duties.

How MojoHost handles DMCA notices

When MojoHost receives a valid DMCA notice, it takes the content down or disables access, then contacts the customer so a counter-notice can be filed. The content generally goes back up after a valid counter-notice unless the complainant reports a lawsuit. Repeat infringers lose their account. Notices go to a designated copyright agent in Michigan at [email protected]. No response time is published.

MojoHost data centers

The flagship data center and headquarters is a 17,000 sq ft facility in Southfield, Michigan, on MojoHost's own network, ASN 27589. Florida runs through Equinix in Miami. In the Netherlands, the data center page names Iron Mountain AMS-1 in Amsterdam, while the European store places its servers in Haarlem. MojoHost B.V. sells the same servers in euros, plus AMD Ryzen VPS plans from €29.99 that are only offered there. The SLA targets 99.99% public network availability, with response-time credits capped at 25% of the monthly fee.

MojoHost strengths and limitations

  • 324 TB of transfer from $39.

MojoHost vs M3Server

M3Server offers servers with the same transfer allowance from $99.99 and ready-made KVS bundles, but no root access. MojoHost starts cheaper on a server you control.
