Ucartz review: cheap KVM VPS and dedicated servers in the US

ucartz.com

Ucartz is a Kerala-based host running since 2013 that rents VPS and dedicated servers located in the United States. KVM VPS plans cost $10 to $40 a month, the entry VPS drops to $36 for a full year, and legacy dedicated servers in Kansas City start at $30 a month.

Our verdict on Ucartz

Ucartz is a fit for a self-sufficient webmaster who wants a cheap US server for an adult site. The yearly VPS Lite works out at $3 a month for 4 GB of RAM, root access and unmetered traffic, and the Kansas City dedicated boxes give a tube cheap storage behind a CDN.

It is the wrong choice for a site that has to sit in Europe: every VPS ships in the United States.

Ucartz VPS pricing and the yearly discount

All four KVM plans come with NVMe storage, root access and unmetered bandwidth, and a control panel can be installed in one click without a licence fee. Every order form fixes the location to the USA.

PlanMonthlySpecs
VPS Lite$101 core, 4 GB, 50 GB
VPS Standard$202 cores, 8 GB, 100 GB
VPS Pro$304 cores, 16 GB, 200 GB
VPS Elite$408 cores, 32 GB, 400 GB

The yearly deal shrinks as plans grow: Lite costs $36 a year, 70% off, while Elite costs $240, 50% off. Quarterly billing saves nothing. The VPS page promises no renewal hikes, which matters when a $3-a-month server is the reason you signed up.

Ucartz dedicated servers in Kansas City, Los Angeles and Dallas

Ucartz lists sixteen fixed-price dedicated configurations from $30 to $128 a month, billed monthly. Seven are in the United States, and Ucartz itself calls them entry-level and legacy-hardware machines:

  • $30 in Kansas City: Core2Duo at 1.6 GHz, 4 GB, 250 GB disk, 100 Mbps port,
  • $51 in Kansas City: Core i5-750, 16 GB, 500 GB, 1 Gbps,
  • $60 in Kansas City: dual Xeon 5520, 16 GB, two 2 TB drives, 1 Gbps,
  • $57 in Los Angeles: Xeon E3-1230v2, 16 GB, 1 TB SSD,
  • $96 in Dallas: Xeon E3-1270v6, 32 GB, 1 TB.

Bandwidth is unlimited on all US machines, and failed hardware is replaced within 24 hours of the fault being confirmed. For a tube that stores video and serves it through a CDN, the $60 box gives the most disk per dollar among the US servers. Newer self-managed hardware starts at $68 and fully managed servers at $142. The other low-cost boxes sit in Canada, Germany, Finland, Australia and Singapore, outside the two countries the adult policy names, so ask before ordering one.

Ucartz billing, refunds and uptime credits

Prices are set in US dollars and converted at checkout into rupees, pounds, Australian or Canadian dollars or dirhams. Payment by UPI, card, net banking or PayPal suits an Indian customer, and cheques are credited once cleared.

The 30-day money-back guarantee covers a first VPS, shared or streaming purchase, never a dedicated server. A free domain is deducted from the refund, and accounts closed for cause get nothing back.

The uptime target is 99.9% a month. For every 0.1% below it, Ucartz credits 10% of that month’s fee once you report it. Support works in English, Malayalam and Tamil. Streaming is the company’s other specialty, with Centova, AzuraCast and SonicPanel radio hosting from $3 a month and Flussonic video servers from $189.

Ucartz strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • A $36 yearly VPS with 4 GB of RAM and unmetered bandwidth.
  • US dedicated servers from $30, billed monthly.
  • UPI, PayPal and local currencies at checkout.

Limitations

  • VPS only in the United States.
  • Adult sites on VPS or dedicated only, after a manual order review.
  • Old hardware on the cheapest dedicated servers.
  • No refunds on dedicated servers.

Ucartz vs Host4Porn for a budget US adult VPS

Host4Porn starts its VPS at $14.50 a month with 6 TB of transfer and also sells cPanel shared hosting. Ucartz is cheaper, with unmetered traffic and a $36 yearly option. A small adult site that wants cPanel on shared hosting goes to Host4Porn, a webmaster happy with a bare VPS saves money at Ucartz.
