Reverso review: Premium, Pro or word packs in dollars

reverso.net

Reverso is the online translator from Reverso SAS, a French company near Paris. In US dollars, Premium costs $6.49 a month billed yearly, Pro $24.99, and prepaid word packs run from $12 to $1,440. Uploaded documents stay private and can be deleted.

Our verdict on Reverso

Reverso suits a webmaster who translates Word files, bios or site copy by hand into Spanish, Portuguese or French, with no code, and wants a pay-as-you-go option. Word packs cover a one-off job without a subscription.

It is a poor fit for an automated catalog pipeline: there is no self-serve API, only a custom Enterprise quote, and the terms allow submitted text to be used to improve the service.

How much does Reverso cost?

In US dollars, Reverso Premium is $6.49 a month billed yearly ($77.88) or $9.99 month to month, and Pro is $24.99 a month billed yearly ($299.88). Both include unlimited long-text translation and correction plus the desktop and mobile apps. The difference is document translation:

PlanDocument wordsFile size
Premium, yearly50,000 a year30 MB
Premium, monthly6,000 a month30 MB
Pro, yearly200,000 a year120 MB, 250-page PDFs

Euro, pound, Swiss franc and Canadian dollar prices are listed too, and they are set separately rather than converted. No VAT is charged outside the EU. Students and teachers get a discount code.

Reverso word packs without a subscription

Reverso also sells prepaid word packs for documents: 2,500 words for $12, 10,000 for $36, 50,000 for $120 and 1,000,000 for $1,440. A new account gets 2,500 free credits. Beyond a plan’s allowance, extra words cost $0.0022 each on Premium and $0.0018 on Pro.

A 50,000-word pack, about 120 pages, costs less than a year of Pro for a site that needs its pages translated once.

What Reverso does with your documents

Reverso treats uploaded documents as strictly confidential: you can delete them at any time, and Reverso keeps no copy. Documents sit on a private cloud, staff access them only when you ask for support, and personal data is hosted in Europe. Reverso keeps your email address and usage volume.

The general terms still allow submitted content to be used to improve the services, and for personalized ads if you opt in. Reverso Documents may also use partners such as SDL, Promt and Abbyy. Nothing targets adult text you translate: the ban on “obscene” content covers what you publish through the site’s collaborative tools. Translations are not guaranteed to be kept beyond 90 days after your last payment.
