Is Lingvanex safe for your text?
Lingvanex says it deletes texts, images, audio and documents as soon as translation is complete, stores no translated data and does not use it to train its models. It does keep access logs for billing, security and statistics, including the time and size of each request. Data centers are in the US, Europe and Asia.
Lingvanex can suspend access without notice if it believes the terms have been breached.
Lingvanex API pricing for a video catalog
The Lingvanex API costs $5 per million characters, dropping to $3 per million when you prepay a billion characters or more. Requests are unlimited, and the API handles plain text and HTML.
A tube with 10,000 videos whose title and description run to 250 characters sends 2.5 million characters per language: $12.50 at Lingvanex, $37.50 at Amazon Translate, or a flat $14 a month at LibreTranslate.
Lingvanex on-premise server pricing
Lingvanex also sells a translation server you install on your own hardware, with unlimited volume and users, at a fixed price based on the number of languages. It quotes two different starting prices, $10 a day and $200 a month, though $10 a day comes to about $300 a month. Ask for a written quote before committing.
The on-premise version supports glossaries and custom terminology, useful for locking performer or series names. An SDK adds offline translation to iOS, Android, macOS and Windows apps.
Lingvanex languages for Brazil, Mexico and India
Lingvanex lists 109 languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia, Urdu and Sindhi. It separates simplified and traditional Chinese, but has a single Portuguese and a single Spanish, so a site aimed at Brazil or Mexico gets the same output as one aimed at Lisbon or Madrid.
Who runs Lingvanex
Lingvanex belongs to Nordicwise Limited, based in Athienou, in the Larnaca district of Cyprus. Payments go through Paddle or Lemon Squeezy. The company also sells desktop, mobile and browser translation apps and a Slack add-on.
