AltusHost review: unmetered shared hosting from €14.95

altushost.com

AltusHost is an Amsterdam host founded in 2008 with data centers in five European countries. Shared hosting starts at €14.95 a month with unlimited bandwidth, VPS plans at €19.95 and dedicated servers at €149.95.

Our take on AltusHost

AltusHost is a solid pick for an adult site aimed at European visitors that wants a fully identified company and card or bank payments. Shared plans publish their RAM, CPU and I/O limits, and bandwidth is listed as unlimited.

It is less suited to a site that pays in crypto, wants servers in the US, or needs a cheap first dedicated box: the €149.95 Core server stops at 1 Gbps and cannot be refunded.

AltusHost shared hosting pricing

AltusHost's BIZ Start plan costs €14.95 a month, €11.95 billed yearly or €10.95 on a two-year term, with 50 GB of SSD, five websites and unlimited bandwidth. All three shared plans run cPanel, CloudLinux and LiteSpeed with daily backups and free SSL, and the discounts are plain term discounts.

Migration from another host is free. Agencies can resell under their own brand from €34.95 a month for 50 cPanel accounts, up to €104.95 for 150, with overselling allowed.

AltusHost money-back guarantee by product

Shared hosting is covered for 45 days, reseller plans for 30 days and VPS plans for 14 days. Dedicated servers and colocation have no money-back guarantee at all. Only the base fee is refunded, so extra IPs, licenses, backups, control panels, domains and SSL are excluded, and only the first service on your first account qualifies. Anyone who had an account before, even a closed one, is out.

AltusHost VPS and dedicated servers

The VM-1 VPS costs €19.95 a month, or €15.96 billed yearly, for 2 cores, 2 GB of RAM, 40 GB of storage and 5 TB of bandwidth, on KVM with IPv4, IPv6 and off-site backups. It is sold in the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Switzerland and Sweden. VM-2 and VM-3 raise bandwidth to 10 and 15 TB.

Three dedicated servers are listed:

  • Core, €149.95: Intel E-2286G, 32 GB DDR4, 50 TB, 1 Gbps port.
  • Power, €199.95: AMD EPYC 4344P, 32 GB DDR5 ECC, NVMe, 50 TB, 10 Gbps port.
  • Ultra, €499.95: AMD EPYC 7513, 32 cores, 128 GB DDR4 ECC, 100 TB, 10 Gbps port.

For a video site, the extra €50 from Core to Power buys a port ten times faster plus NVMe storage.

Who is AltusHost, and how do you pay?

AltusHost B.V. publishes its Amsterdam address, company number, Dutch VAT number, a phone line and an LEI code. Its public ratings are good but thin: 4.8 out of 5 on HostAdvice, mixing expert scores and 109 reviews, 7.9 out of 10 on WHTop from 32 reviews, and no reviews at all on Trustpilot. Its data centers are in the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Bulgaria and Serbia, each said to hold ISO 9001 and ISO 27001, with a 99.9% network uptime guarantee. There is no US location: visitors in the US, Brazil or India are served from Europe. In a HostAdvice test published in June 2026, a WordPress site on BIZ Standard had a 284 ms time to first byte from Amsterdam and 807 ms from San Antonio, Texas.

Payment options are Visa, MasterCard and American Express cards, PayPal, SEPA or SWIFT transfers and European methods such as iDEAL, Bancontact and Przelewy24. AltusHost takes no cryptocurrency, and prices are shown in euros excluding EU VAT.
