Hawk Host shared hosting prices by term
Hawk Host's Starter plan costs $4.49 a month with no commitment, $2.61 on a one-year term, $2.52 on two years and $1.99 on three years. Every term shows its upfront total and its renewal rate:
- One year: $31.30 upfront, then $5.22 a month.
- Two years: $60.49 upfront, then $4.94 a month.
- Three years: $71.69 upfront, then $4.53 a month.
Starter has 15 GB of NVMe, one core, 2 GB of RAM and a shared IP. Launch moves to 40 GB, two cores and 3 GB for $2.87 a year then $9.57. Plus, at $8.78 then $13.93, is the first plan with a dedicated IP. All shared plans list unlimited bandwidth, databases, domains and mailboxes, free SSL and free migration. White-label reseller and semi-dedicated plans are also available.
What Hawk Host's acceptable use policy bans
Hawk Host's acceptable use policy rules out three uses, whatever the advertised bandwidth: running an account as a CDN or similar service for video, media or other high-bandwidth content, using it as a file mirror, repository or download host, and running a torrent tracker, even for legal files. Hawk Host can also suspend accounts it considers used inappropriately, a term it does not define.
Hawk Host cloud VPS plans
Cloud VPS plans start at $5 a month, or $4.17 billed yearly, for 1 GB of RAM, one core, 30 GB of NVMe and 2 TB of transfer. The 2 GB plan costs $10 with 4 TB, the 4 GB plan $20 with 5 TB, and the top 64 GB plan $320 with 20 TB. Every plan has a 1 Gbps port and full root access, in Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Toronto, London, Singapore or Hong Kong.
Transfer is metered here, which makes costs easier to predict than the shared plans' unlimited label, though 2 TB will not last long with large files.
How much notice before Hawk Host closes an account?
Hawk Host's terms give 30 days to fix a first serious breach of the acceptable use policy, 10 days on an overdue payment, and one day for a repeat breach or false customer information. For an adult site that draws complaints, a month is enough to remove a file or move hosts.
Hawk Host can still suspend at once if it reasonably believes the service breaks its policy, if the customer does not cooperate with an investigation, to protect its network, or at the request of law enforcement. Accounts with a high volume of verified abuse complaints may be removed.
Refunds and price increases
Only the first payment is refundable, within 30 days, and only on shared, reseller, semi-dedicated and VPS services. Hawk Host may raise prices at the start of a renewal term and aims to give 10 days' notice. If you do not opt out of renewal, the new price counts as accepted. Prices are shown in US dollars only. Uptime is guaranteed at 99.9%, with a 10% credit for each 0.1 point missed and a full credit below 99%, claimed by ticket within seven days.
Public ratings disagree: 4.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 236 reviews, 2.9 out of 5 on HostAdvice, mixing expert scores and 43 reviews, and 4.4 out of 10 on WHTop from 25 reviews.
