NamePros review: free adult domain listings, no commission

namepros.com

NamePros is a domain name forum running since 2003. Registered members get a four-section adult marketplace, where adult domains have drawn 509K views and adult websites 196K. A free account keeps two listings live at once, and NamePros takes no commission on sales.

Our take on NamePros

NamePros suits a webmaster selling an adult domain or a small site who would rather keep the whole sale price and can handle negotiation and escrow alone. You get an audience of domain investors, written sales rules and public trade feedback on every member. NamePros never checks ownership or revenue and never holds the money.

A site earning several thousand dollars a month is a better fit for a broker such as Broker.xxx, which charges 10% and brings buyers from the adult industry.

What selling on NamePros costs

NamePros charges no sales commission, and signing up is free. The seller covers the payment or escrow fees, except any the buyer could have avoided or agrees to pay, so those belong in the asking price. Prices are in US dollars unless the listing says otherwise.

The real cap is how many listings you can keep live at once:

Inside the Adult Marketplace

Sexually explicit content is banned from every public area of NamePros, signatures included, and lives in one designated category. Its four sections are private: logged-out visitors see only the section names and view counts.

  • Adult Domains For Sale, about 509K views,
  • Adult Websites For Sale, about 196K views,
  • Adult Requests, where buyers post what they want, about 21K,
  • Adult Advertising and External Sales, the one place a link to an off-site listing is allowed, about 6K.

Domains pull more than twice the traffic of developed sites, which tells you who reads the forum.

Proof rules for traffic and revenue claims

Any claim about traffic, revenue, profit or appraisal value on NamePros must come with proof, such as a current, clear video of the dashboard. For a paysite, that means recording the affiliate program or payment processor back office with the source visible. Sellers must own the asset or be an authorized broker and show proof on request.

Each domain in a listing names its registrar and the payment options accepted. Unusual terms go in the public listing up front, and hidden fees are banned.

Payment deadlines, offers and auctions

Once an offer is accepted on NamePros, the buyer has 7 days to start payment, and the domain must be received within 14 days in total. Other timelines only count if they were agreed beforehand, and an offer outside an auction stays valid for 7 days at most.

Auctions have no reserve. The seller sets a starting bid of at least $1 that they are willing to accept, every valid bid is binding, and the item goes to the highest bidder or the first buyer to take the Buy It Now price. Sellers can limit bidding to members with a minimum number of positive Trade Reviews.

Trade Reviews are left once per completed or attempted transaction, and gaming them is punished. Keep every conversation on the forum, in public or by direct message: once a deal moves to email, staff cannot help if it goes wrong.

Handling payment with Escrow.com

NamePros does not hold funds. Escrow.com keeps the buyer’s money until the domain, files and accounts change hands. Moving a developed site, with its hosting, database and affiliate accounts, is left entirely to the two parties.

For domains, NamePros also offers free for-sale landers with no upfront fee, no monthly fee and 0% commission. They can show a Buy Now price and open an Escrow.com transaction directly.

NamePros strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • No commission on forum sales or landers.
  • A separate adult category for domains and sites.
  • Written deadlines and proof rules.
  • Public trade feedback on every member.

Limitations

  • Two live listings on a free account.
  • No built-in escrow, and the seller pays payment fees.
  • No ownership or revenue checks by NamePros.
  • A domainer crowd, thinner for developed sites.
  • English only, private messages included.
  • No company details or public prices for paid accounts.

NamePros vs DNForum

DNForum also opens its general markets to free accounts, but its adult section is for discussion only and has no active sales board. To list an adult domain or site for sale between investors, NamePros is the one of the two with dedicated sales sections.
