Sovrn fees
Sovrn keeps 0.5% of each successful payment and nothing else: no monthly fee, no setup fee, no minimums, no reserve. Network fees are paid by the customer’s wallet, from fractions of a cent on Solana to around $1 on Bitcoin. There are no chargebacks, since on-chain payments are final.
How payments reach the merchant
On Optimism, each merchant gets a personal splitter contract, deployed at Sovrn’s expense. The customer’s ETH, USDC or USDT goes in and comes out in the same transaction, 99.5% to the merchant. The splitter cannot be changed after deployment and refuses any fee above 5%.
Bitcoin and Solana work differently. Sovrn gives each payment its own address or temporary key and sweeps the merchant’s share out within about 30 seconds. Base, Polygon and Arbitrum can be switched on by request. Prices can be set in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD or CAD and are locked for 30 minutes.
Sovrn’s security model
Sovrn states that a full compromise of its servers could not drain Optimism payments, which never pass through it. On Bitcoin and Solana, an attacker could redirect payments caught in the 30-second window, though not funds already paid out. Master keys rotate quarterly. Anyone holding a merchant’s API key can create payments on that account, but those payments still go to the merchant’s wallet.
Integrating Sovrn
A REST call creates the payment and returns a hosted checkout link, which can also open in a modal on your own site. Sovrn checks each network every 15 seconds, counts Bitcoin payments once they reach the mempool, accepts payments that arrive at 99% or more, and confirms them with an HMAC-signed webhook. There is no WooCommerce or Shopify plugin, so a developer is needed.
Who runs Sovrn
Divyesh Hingu, a finance and economics student at the University of Queensland, designed and built Sovrn in 2025 and runs it alone. No company, terms of service or licence are published. Support goes by email straight to the founder. Sovrn has no stated link to Sovrn Holdings, Inc., the US advertising and affiliate company for publishers that shares the name and most online reviews.

Sovrn vs Plisio
