Probiller review: the in-house biller of the Aylo group

probiller.com

Probiller is the billing name of Aylo Billing, in Texas and Cyprus, which charges subscriptions for partner entertainment sites. All eight public pages are written for buyers: none offers rates or an account to an outside merchant.

Our verdict on Probiller

Probiller is useful for understanding how the Aylo group bills its subscribers: payment methods, support hours, and its rules on chargebacks and failed rebills.

A webmaster looking for a biller for their own site will find no rates, no application form and no sales contact, and should look at billers open to merchants, such as CCBill or Segpay.

Can a merchant sign up with Probiller?

None of Probiller’s eight public pages addresses merchants: no rates, no application form, no sales contact and no technical documentation. Reserves, payout timing and chargeback fees are not published, and nothing shows that Probiller takes on new sites beyond its partners.

What Probiller does

Probiller is the merchant of record for Aylo Billing US Corp. in Austin, Texas, and Aylo Billing Limited in Dali, Cyprus: it takes the payment, and its name appears on the buyer’s card statement. It says it handles millions of transactions a month for its eCommerce partners, usually subscriptions to entertainment websites.

Rules for Probiller subscribers

Every chargeback is investigated and may block the subscriber’s future purchases. Refunds are granted at Aylo Billing’s discretion and only to the original payment method. When a rebill fails, Probiller may retry a lower amount once, then charge an administration fee of up to $2.00 to keep the subscription active.

On adult-restricted sites, subscribers may have to pay an age verification fee, borne entirely by them and non-refundable.

What buyers get from Probiller

Buyers pay by credit or debit card, gift card, eWallet or bank transfer, depending on the site, and see prices in their own currency. Probiller says it serves customers in over 150 countries.

Support is open Monday to Friday, 10AM to 6PM EST, by phone, live chat or email, with fifteen toll-free numbers including the US, Canada, the UK and Ireland.

Probiller payment security

Probiller claims PCI DSS and PSD2 compliance, with Visa and Mastercard two-factor authentication. It publishes no payment license and names no acquiring bank.

Strengths and limitations of Probiller

Strengths

  • Fifteen toll-free numbers.
  • Several payment methods for buyers.
  • Prices in local currency.

Limitations

  • No sign-up for outside merchants.
  • No rates or payout rules.
  • Support closed at weekends.
  • No license or named bank.

Probiller vs CCBill and Segpay

CCBill and Segpay are also merchants of record for adult sites, but they sign outside merchants and publish their rules: CCBill pays every Monday, Segpay every Tuesday with a reserve capped at 5%. A webmaster looking for a biller starts there.
