OrbitalPay review: adult billing run by GETTRX

orbitalpay.com

OrbitalPay sells a payment gateway and merchant accounts to adult and dating sites, with NATS and MPA3 support. The brand is run by GETTRX in Torrance, California, a registered ISO for Merrick Bank and Esquire Bank. No rates are published.

Our verdict on OrbitalPay

OrbitalPay suits a US adult membership or dating site running NATS or MPA3 that wants one gateway billing across several merchant accounts, plus a support desk for its members.

Nothing is priced before the call: no rate, reserve or minimum term. No merchant terms are published either, by OrbitalPay or by GETTRX.

Who is behind OrbitalPay

The OrbitalPay footer lists only the address of GETTRX, 970 West 190th Street in Torrance, California. GETTRX, or Global Electronic Technology, Inc., is a registered ISO, MSP, PSP and payment facilitator for Merrick Bank in Utah, and a registered ISO for Esquire Bank in New York.

GETTRX says it started the company over thirty years ago.

What OrbitalPay sells

OrbitalPay offers a gateway and merchant accounts through banking partners in the US or, for offshore processing, abroad. The gateway bills through multiple accounts from one admin. It takes cards and ACH online, by virtual terminal or as recurring billing, with multiple currencies and geo-targeting.

OrbitalPay claims 25 years serving adult and dating merchants, over 1,000 merchants and a 2023 XBIZ Legacy Award. Its high-risk page lists adult first, then pharmacies, MOTO, tobacco, alcohol and CBD.

Tools for membership sites

The gateway integrates with NATS and MPA3 and reports on members, retention and ROI, with tools for affiliates and webmasters. Chargebacks are notified immediately and managed with the merchant.

Merchants own and control their customer data and set their own refund and cancellation policies. OrbitalPay’s in-house support answers members by phone and email 24/7/365.

OrbitalPay pricing

OrbitalPay publishes no rate, no fixed fee, no reserve and no minimum term. It promises “competitive rates” and notes that some high-risk providers ask “upwards of eight percent”, without giving its own. A rep calls back within one business day after the form.

The site also loads over plain http without redirecting to https, so fill in the form from the https address.

How OrbitalPay pays out

OrbitalPay advertises daily deposits and gives no further detail. At GETTRX, funds reach the merchant’s account after two banking days, with next-day funding for qualified merchants.

Strengths and limitations of OrbitalPay

Strengths

  • NATS and MPA3 support.
  • Several accounts on one gateway.
  • Customer data stays with the merchant.
  • Member support around the clock.

Limitations

  • No rates or reserve terms.
  • No merchant terms online.
  • Site still served over http.

OrbitalPay vs NETbilling and MobiusPay

NETbilling gets you an account in your own name, advertises a starting rate of 1.4% + 6¢ and deposits card sales daily. MobiusPay is also an ISO for Merrick Bank with NATS support, and also publishes no rate. A site that wants a number before calling starts with NETbilling.
