How VerifyMy checks age from an email address
The visitor enters an email address, and VerifyMy looks at where it has been used before, such as a bank, mortgage lender or utility provider, to decide whether the person is 18+. Results come back in seconds. Neither VerifyMy nor the site gets access to the inbox or any emails. The Age Check Certification Scheme rated the method highly effective as part of VerifyMy’s ACCS 1:2025 and ISO/IEC 27566-1 certification, alongside its facial age estimation.
VerifyMy’s other age check methods
If email is not enough, the visitor can switch to facial age estimation from a short selfie video with liveness detection, an ID with a face match, name and address, a mobile number, or a credit card. The card check places a £1 charge that is refunded at once, and VerifyMy stores no card details. VerifyMy claims more than 35 million people verified, 195 countries and a 95% success rate. The site only receives the 18+ answer.
VerifyMy pricing and contract terms
VerifyMy’s published schedule charges £1 per successful check up to 3,999 a month, falling through six tiers to £0.80 above 40,000. A repeat check of the same buyer on the same site is not billed. Invoices go out at the end of each period or once fees reach £1,000.
The terms come with conditions. Prices assume VerifyMy is your exclusive age verification provider, and any check done by someone else is charged as £0.60 in liquidated damages. The initial term is 12 months, renewing for 12 months at a time, with three months’ notice to cancel. VerifyMy can raise prices yearly on five months’ notice, and its logo and verification statement must appear on every verification page. The schedule is written for online sales. A managed flow for an adult platform is priced separately.
VerifyMy for creators and moderation
For adult platforms, VerifyMy also verifies the age, identity and consent of creators and participants, moderates content before publication and live streams, handles complaints and produces monthly compliance reports. VerifyMy is also approved by Germany’s KJM.
What VerifyMy keeps
In US states that forbid keeping identifiable data after an adult site age check, VerifyMy deletes it as soon as the check is done. Elsewhere, data is kept for the periods in its privacy policies and never sold. VerifyMy is ISO 27001 compliant and runs regular penetration tests.
