Is SEO PowerSuite free?

Yes, with limits. The free version needs no signup and never expires, but it saves nothing. You get one project at a time, 500 audited URLs, 1,100 backlinks and one competitor per project. That covers a one-off audit of a small site or a niche landing page, and falls short for ongoing tracking across a tube network.

Every SEO PowerSuite license is a one-year subscription that renews automatically at the price listed on the day of renewal, unless you cancel before the new term starts. There is no one-time or lifetime license. Two-year plans cut the price by 20% and three-year plans by 34%. The terms rule out refunds, even if you never used the software.

What running SEO on the desktop means

SEO PowerSuite runs on Windows 10 or 11, Windows Server 2016 R2, macOS and Linux, needs at least 4 GB of RAM and keeps projects on your local drive. Each license is single-user. You can install it on several computers but run it on only one at a time, and it takes about 13 minutes for a session to free up before you switch.

Scheduled checks and reports only fire while the app stays open or minimized and the PC does not sleep. Daily rank tracking therefore needs a machine that stays on.

Rank Tracker checks rankings on more than 550 search engines and searches a 216-million keyword database. WebSite Auditor crawls your site for technical and on-page issues. SEO SpyGlass analyzes backlinks from an index of 6.5 trillion links. LinkAssistant handles link prospecting and outreach. Aleh Barysevich and Viktar Khamianok started building the tools in 2004, and Techfusion LTD in Nicosia, Cyprus, sells them.

Is Semrush better than SEO PowerSuite?

For a team, yes: Semrush runs in the browser, with no computer left on and no one-seat license, but its plans start at $139.95 a month. A solo webmaster pays €349 a year for SEO PowerSuite Professional, with unlimited projects and keywords. For audits alone, Screaming Frog and Sitebulb are also desktop crawlers.
