Promptchan suits an adult webmaster who wants to plug image generation or a chat character into a site through an API, or produce content for a catalog, as long as they work in private mode. Its detailed ban list rules out, among other things, any high school setting and any real person’s likeness.

The Promptchan API

A documented API covers image generation, character chat and video, authenticated with a key in the x-api-key header. POST /api/external/create returns an image for 1 Gem by default, more at higher quality or with face restoration. POST /api/external/chat is billed per message, 0.4 Gem on v2.5 Pro and 0.2 on v2.5 Fast, with no free allowance. Video runs on a separate host, and its endpoints return a 503 if sent to the main one.

Who owns API and site output

Users keep ownership of what they create in every mode. In public mode, though, they grant Promptchan a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable and transferable license to host, reproduce, distribute and adapt it, including to promote the service. In private or offline mode, Promptchan asserts no rights and makes no public or commercial use of it. A webmaster producing for their own catalog should stay private.

The free plan gives daily Gems for images and chat. Plus costs $14.99 a month for 100 Gems, Premium $23.99 for 400, and Pro $33.99 for unlimited casual generations, 800 Gems, video, 4K images and voice calls. Subscribers buy extra Gems at half price. Refunds are possible within 30 days with no significant use, and never for crypto payments. The terms ban child abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, scat, incest, extreme violence, high school settings or characters shown as minors, bestiality and any real person without consent.
