The personal-use limit on Civitai Red
The terms grant access to the service “solely for your personal, non-commercial use”, and the Buzz terms license purchased Buzz “for your personal entertainment only”. The on-site generator is therefore framed as a personal tool. Buzz purchases are final, and the license can end on 30 days’ notice if the service shuts down.
On civitai.red, Yellow memberships are gone. What remains is buying Buzz, which covers all content ratings, and a one-month perks membership paid with earned Buzz. Prices only show after sign-in. The official announcement explains the split from civitai.com, which keeps cards and memberships: Civitai has lost every mainstream payment rail except crypto.
Commercial permissions on downloaded models
Each uploader sets what a model may be used for. Among the 300 most downloaded, 226 allow commercial use of the images they produce, 47 only allow on-site generation and 27 allow no commercial use at all. 62 also allow reselling the model. The public API answers without a key and links to the files, so a model can be run on your own GPU under its listed permission.
What Civitai Red bans
The list rules out whole niches. No likeness of a real person, living or dead, in any context. No minors or style suggesting them, with loli and shota named. No incest or sexual violence, and no urine, feces, menstruation or diapers. Any sexualized post must carry its generation metadata, at least the prompt.

Civitai Red versus Arli AI
Arli AI hosts 86 image models, mostly SDXL-based, behind a flat monthly plan from $10, and its terms allow a public service built on its API. Civitai Red offers far more models to download, but its own generator is for personal use.
Arli AI rents access to open text and image models with no token or request cap, from $10 to $160 a month.
