What each NovelAI plan changes
All three plans include images and unlimited text. Tablet at $10 and Scroll at $15 differ only in text memory, 8,192 against 12,288 tokens, and both pay for images in Anlas with 1,000 free a month. Opus at $25 makes images unlimited, adds 10,000 Anlas and takes memory to 28,672 tokens. That unlimited covers one image at a time, up to 1,024 pixels per side and 28 steps, with further limits on the V5 model. A free trial gives 30 images and 50 text generations, and no refund is owed unless granted.
Rights over NovelAI output
NovelAI sets no limitation on commercial use of the images, and no extra subscription is needed for it. Users keep all rights and ownership of their content. Prompts are encrypted and generated images are not stored on NovelAI’s servers.
Images come from NovelAI Diffusion V5, an anime-leaning model. Stories run on three text models, GLM-4.6, Llama 3 Erato 70B and Xialong, and a text-to-speech engine rounds out the set.
A documented API covers text, image and voice generation. It runs on a subscriber’s persistent API token, and third-party apps for end users must ask each user for their own token. The terms also ban automation that strains the service’s limits. A webmaster can script their own production within their plan, but not serve site visitors from one account.
