Corepay review: an ISO for adult and AI companion sites

corepay.net

Corepay is a Florida ISO that boards high-risk merchant accounts for North American Banking Company. It has dedicated offers for adult content, dating, cam and AI companion businesses, waives its own setup and annual fees, and quotes rates, reserves and minimum terms only after underwriting.

Our verdict on Corepay

Corepay makes sense for an established adult or AI companion business that wants a merchant account in its own name, with its own descriptor, and has the volume to negotiate terms. It also covers cases third-party billers handle poorly, such as an adult toy store on Shopify or an AI girlfriend app that sells tokens.

A new site has less to gain. Rates, reserves, minimum term and exit fees are all negotiated, and a third-party review reports fixed fees that Corepay’s own pages don’t mention. Adult is one of about sixty industries Corepay serves.

Is Corepay a payment processor?

Corepay is a registered ISO/MSP of North American Banking Company in Roseville, Minnesota: it underwrites your application, submits it to the bank and manages the account afterward. You end up with a merchant account and descriptor in your own business name. CCBill and Segpay bill under their own names instead, as third-party billers.

Corepay reviews the file before the bank sees it: processing history, chargeback ratios, financial statements, business documents and website compliance. Adult applications usually get a decision within 24 hours, and other high-risk accounts within one to three business days. Payments run through NetValve, Corepay’s own gateway, with age verification, recurring billing and fraud screening built in. NMI and Authorize.Net are supported if you already use them, and transactions can be routed across several acquiring banks.

Corepay for AI companion and chatbot platforms

Corepay has a dedicated offer for adult AI chatbot and companion apps, with monthly memberships, token purchases and premium tiers handled natively. It quotes more than 135 currencies for platforms with a global user base, a category most processors decline outright.

The underwriting questions are the same as for any adult site: content moderation, user verification and chargeback controls. Renewal disputes from users who don’t recognize a charge are the main risk, which is where the Ethoca, Verifi and Visa Rapid Dispute Resolution tools come in.

What Corepay expects from an adult site

Corepay’s adult offer covers live cam sites, creator platforms, adult dating, adult toy and lingerie stores, and gentlemen’s clubs. Adult Shopify stores, which Shopify Payments refuses, can plug Corepay in as a third-party provider and choose a discreet descriptor.

Some acquiring banks ask for a content monitoring policy before approval. Corepay expects round-the-clock review by software and people, performer records with photo ID and a matching selfie for cam sites, proof that you own the content you show, and the US age records required of any producer of explicit content. Verifi Order Insight and 3-D Secure 2.1 are part of the risk setup, and a payouts module can send money to affiliates, partners or vendors by card push, ACH or wire.

How much does Corepay cost?

Corepay publishes no rates. It offers a single flat rate, interchange++ or custom pricing, with no setup fees and no monthly minimums, and says it waives application, setup and annual fees for adult merchants.

Card brand registration is due before going live: $950 to Visa and $950 to Mastercard each year according to Corepay, $1,900 in total. CCBill now charges $1,000 for the Mastercard side, so confirm the figure in your offer. PaymentReview reports a monthly fee starting at $99 and a $1,000 annual account fee, neither of which appears on Corepay’s pages. Ask for the full fee schedule in writing.

Reserve, funding and minimum term

Reserve percentage, payout timing outside the US, minimum term and exit fees are not published anywhere. Corepay promises reserves released on a predictable schedule as your chargeback rate settles, and next-day funding for US accounts. PaymentReview puts standard payouts at 1 to 5 business days depending on region and risk.

Corepay notes that three-year contracts with early termination fees are common in high-risk processing, and says its own termination fees only target fraudulent merchants. Accounts are available in the US, the 27 EU member states, the UK in pounds and Australia in Australian dollars, though another page lists Canada instead of Australia.

Is Corepay legit?

Corepay is a real, registered intermediary: its sponsor bank is named in its footer, and its BBB profile in Winter Park, Florida shows an A+ rating and accreditation. It has a London office and holds no payment license of its own, so the bank sets the final terms. Its Trustpilot score is 4.4 from only 13 reviews. Corepay’s own pages disagree on its age, nine years on the About page and over twenty years on the adult page.

Strengths and limitations of Corepay

Strengths

  • A merchant account in your own name, with your own descriptor.
  • Dedicated offers for AI companions and adult Shopify stores.
  • No setup or annual fees according to Corepay.
  • Full dispute tooling: Ethoca, Verifi and Visa RDR.

Limitations

  • No published rate, reserve or minimum term.
  • Fixed fees reported by a third party that Corepay doesn’t list.
  • A thin public review record, 13 reviews on Trustpilot.
  • Inconsistent details across its own pages.

Corepay vs CCBill and Segpay

CCBill pays every Monday and Segpay every Tuesday with a reserve capped at 5% for six months, and both publish those rules. Both bill under their own names. Corepay gets you an account in your name but leaves every number to the offer. An established site that can negotiate looks at Corepay. A site that wants to know its terms before applying starts with the other two.
