AEBN review: the affiliate side of the VOD pioneer

aebn.com

AEBN, the video on demand network running since 1999, pays its Traffic Partners 50% of net sales, with no pay per click or per signup. Its cookie lasts 60 days and resets on every visit through your link, payouts start at $100, and traffic from sixty countries, including India, Brazil and Poland, does not count.

Our verdict on AEBN

AEBN is a good fit for movie and pornstar review sites with returning US, UK, Canadian or Australian readers who click through to specific titles. The 60-day cookie resets on every visit through your link, deep links reach any title, and signup is free and instant.

Skip it if you buy search traffic, which AEBN does not count, or if your audience sits in India, Brazil, Eastern Europe or Southeast Asia, which it excludes. And remember the 50% is calculated on net sales when you compare it with other programs.

AEBN

Most "AEBN review" results rate the consumer site: pay-per-minute streaming, rentals and downloads. This review covers the other side, the AEBN Traffic Partner program for webmasters.

How much AEBN pays affiliates

AEBN pays Traffic Partners 50% of all sales from the traffic they send, and calls it the highest rate it can offer while still covering content costs. The share is calculated on net sales, meaning gross sales minus processing fees, refunds and chargebacks. Your own tier table sits in the private affiliate panel.

Revenue share is the whole model. There is no pay per click and no pay per signup, so volume-driven traffic that rarely converts earns little here.

Payouts start at $100 and usually go out by the 20th of each month for the previous month, always in US dollars. Outside the US, you choose between a paper check, an expedited check, PayPal, or a bank wire through TransferMate or MassPay. AEBN charges nothing on paper checks, while PayPal, TransferMate and MassPay may take a fee.

The sixty countries AEBN excludes

AEBN bans promotion to people in sixty countries and pays nothing on their sales. The list includes India, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, South Korea, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and most of Central and Eastern Europe. The US, Canada, the UK, Australia, France and Spain are not on it.

A second list bars access to the program's sites and tools altogether, and it names Japan and Germany alongside several Gulf and Middle Eastern states. An affiliate based in one of them is not allowed to use the program from there.

Visitors from a US state or a country with an age verification law must verify their age on AEBN, through PrivateAV or Yoti, before they can browse.

What US affiliates need to know

US affiliates get ACH and paper checks with no AEBN fee, plus PayPal. Only US citizens and resident aliens can join from inside the US, and the tax ID or Social Security number you give must exactly match the payee name. Failing to supply it is grounds for closing the account and forfeiting commissions. Above $600 a year, your earnings are reported to the IRS and you receive a 1099, so keep your W-9 current.

Referral pay and the 3% origination fee

Bring in another webmaster and AEBN pays you 5% of their first $2,500 in sales each month for two years: up to $125 a month and $3,000 per referral.

The customer origination fee covers buyers. If a customer you brought in later buys through another affiliate's link after your cookie has expired, you still get 3% of their spending for as long as they stay active.

Deep links, campaigns and auto-updating banners

AEBN deep links reach a single movie, star, studio, director, series or category: add your refid to the page URL. Campaigns are unlimited, attach to any sales tool, and report over 7, 30, 60 or 90 days. Banners refresh on their own with the content of the day, the week's top stars and the most-watched titles by category.

White label theaters closed to new partners in February 2021. Theaters built before then still earn 30% to 50% depending on volume. Studios can also sell their own movies through the separate Content Partner program, at 20% to 25% per sale, and earn both shares when their visitors watch their own titles.

Is AEBN legit?

Yes. AEBN, short for Adult Entertainment Broadcast Network, has operated since 1999 from Charlotte, North Carolina, with satellite offices in California. WMM Holdings, LLC runs the affiliate program. Its minimum, payout date, payment methods and their fees are all published, and US partners get tax forms. The ScamAdviser and MyWOT scores that rank for the name are about the consumer site.

Strengths and limits of AEBN

Strengths

  • A 60-day cookie that resets on every visit through your link.
  • Free, instant signup.
  • Deep links down to a single movie, star or studio.
  • Paid referrals, plus 3% for life on customers you brought in.
  • Published payout methods and fees, with free ACH in the US.

Limitations

  • Net-sales basis, and no pay per click or per signup.
  • Sixty countries excluded, including India, Brazil and most of Eastern Europe.
  • No sale without a readable cookie, so cross-device buys are lost.
  • A $100 minimum, and paid search traffic does not count.
  • No new white label theaters since 2021.

AEBN vs Adult Empire Cash

Adult Empire Cash, the other big VOD catalog in our directory, pays up to 35% on video, pays out from $50 and adds DVDs and toys, but publishes no cookie window and sets starting rates case by case. AEBN pays more and puts its rules in writing, country bans included. A review blog with loyal readers earns more at AEBN. A site that also covers toys sells more products through Adult Empire Cash.
